calf: the young of the domestic cow or that of a closely related mammal (such as a bison or whale)
The singular of calf is calf. The plural of calf is calves. The noun calf conforms to the standard rules for forming the plurals of nouns in English. Without going too far down the rabbit hole, calfs is not a thing.
When calves are two months old, each calf is branded and ear marked.
Veal calves are reared entirely on milk formula and each veal calf is killed at 18 or 20 weeks as white veal.
